Double Take Flag....

Hello & Happy Thursday Everyone!
It's DT Theresa from Theresa's Crafty Creations
and it's my day to take over the blog!

YAY for me... I'm so excited to share a wonderful
Fourth of July card with you!

Some of you may not know, but... my son is in the Marines,
and anytime I can send him well wishes, I do! I thought this
Fantastic Double Take Flag Stamp would be fitting!
It is a Large stamp, and the stars are separate from the stripes,
which made it easy to stamp in the colors I wanted!
I also like that the stamp has a vintage/distress design
which I thought was pretty neat - 😊
The Sentiment is computer generated & I printed it out
on Vellum paper... then die cut it out with a banner die.

Cardstock - Stampin' Up, Recollections, Vellum

Mouse Shaker Card

Hello everyone!  Beth from Beth's Beauties with you today.  I have this bright shaker card to share with you.
I started by stamping the V.O. Mouse With Umbrella stamp (also part of the Mouse Set 1) with Versafine Onyx Black ink on watercolor paper.  I used Crayola Watercolor pencils and an aqua brush to color in the image.  I made it into a shaker card using GMD double pierced circle in and out dies, acetate, foam tape and sequins.
I used a GMD stitched rectangle die for the front panel.  The papers I used are from Doodlebug Design Fun In The Sun 6x6 pad.  The sentiment is from V.O. Floral and Sayings stamp set and I added some GMD Watermelon Colors enamel dots around it.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

The Beauty of Spring

The beauty of spring

Hey crafty friends, I up again here on the Victorine Originals blog this week to share a pretty yet simple card with you all.

This beautiful flower stamp is so pretty and reminded me of all the blooming going around right now.

I dug thru my paper stash and found this beautiful nature pattern paper from club scrap. I actually picked this up at a flea market along with some other sets they sent out. Love it. I layered a few different colors to help bring out the colors. I stamped my image a few times and only colored/highlighted the main flower with a pretty purple gel pen from super doodle.
Sorry the photo is darker as it was a cloudy day before the rain. I still love the way it made the glitter shine.

Don't forget to head join in our challenge: 4th of July. It ends this Friday, still plenty of time to link up your project.

If you want some beautiful stamps, head over to the website and go shopping, there is a pretty amazing designs. Don't miss out.
Link to my blog, head on over and leave me a comment there too.
Thanks for stopping by.

Fun Stamping Technique with Modern Background

Hi, everyone and welcome! Lisa from The Relativity of Paper sharing a fun stamping technique using the edge of your ink pads to create a streaking effect.

I used the Modern Background Stamp and tilted my ink pads so that I could run the edge of the felt pad across my stamp. After you get the first layer or two of ink down then you can go back and add more streaks wherever you may want them.

This is a one layer card and it's relatively easy to make. Just play around with scrap paper and get the hang of tilting your ink pad and swiping it across the stamp.

Okay, now it's your turn to give this technique a go! Let me know how you like it or if you have any questions.

So Fancy!

Hi, everyone and welcome! Lisa from The Relativity of Paper sharing a winter-themed card with you today. I know, we have one foot in Summer and here I am sharing a Winter-themed card with you. I will tell you a secret about myself, I'm not a Summer girl, never have been. I love Fall and Winter, it's the happiest time of the year for me. So, to say I had a little fun working with my Winter papers is an understatement.

I fell in love with this stamp when I saw it, she is just so Fancy, right? The stamp is called Lady with Three Dogs. And there is another one called Lady with Two Dogs that is Fabulous, too!

Lady with Three Dogs (3033-M)Lady with Two Dogs

Didn't I tell you they are both Fabulous?

To create this card I stamped the image using Memento Ink Nautical Blue using a stamping tool, stamping the image twice. I like a sharp, dark image. Since I was going with a winter-theme,  because that coat screams winter, I decided to run the stamped image through my Xyron and covered it with glitter. Not just any glitter but my all time favorite glitter, Fairy Dust by Donna Salazar. The rest of the card is die-cutting and layering. The sentiment is stamped using VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and I added one Pretty Pink Posh Sequin. Nothing difficult about this card at all.

Patriotic Flag

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday

It's DT MaryAnn here from PaperDreamz007

Today is my day to post on the Victorine Originals Blog. In keeping with the Patriotic theme I chose to use MAP for my inspiration today.

Card Recipe:
Map stamped on Canson watercolor paper using Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink, then stamped with Versa Mark and heat embossed using WOW clear embossing powder. Using yellow frog tape I masked off the areas where I wanted to apply the field of blue and the red stripes. I used Gansai Tambi watercolors to apply the blue and red over the image. Silver Star sequins from my stash applied using Ranger multi matte medium and a drop of silver stickles to the center for a tiny bit of extra sparkle.

~

Don't forget there is still time to enter your "Fourth of July" themed projects into our challenge...
Head on over to the Victorine Originals blog and check out their challenge post. You have two weeks to enter your project/s that follow this theme. They do not have to use Victorine Originals stamps on them. We can't wait to see what you create!
I look forward to visiting your blogs.

Thank you for visiting today and have a great day!

Taking It Back To the 1980's

Hello and welcome, everyone. Lisa from The Relativity of Paper sharing this 80's inspired card. Yes, I'm aging myself but I'm good with it. So, let's motor! You didn't really think you were going to get out of here without seeing some 80's slang, like, for real? And before we get too far along, I know someone is going to say that's not the lyrics to that song. I know, I wanted the sentiment to flow with the background, so I played around with it.

We're motoring again! HA! Sorry, I can't help myself. Now that you've seen the inspiration and the card let's talk about making it.

CARD BASE
  • 4.25" X 5.5" Black Cardstock #110

LAYERS
  • To create background print "Addicted To Your Love", using gray and sentiment "I'm Gonna Have To Face It", using black,  on white cardstock
  • Cut background to 4.125" x 5.50"
  • Using a Mini Misti I stamped Woman's Face with Versafine Onyx Black and Stampin Up Real Red inks 2 times
  • Die-cit sentiment using banner die-cut
  • Adhere stamped panel and die-cut sentiment with fun foam
  • Finish off with one Pretty Pink Posh Clear Sequin
Okay, how many ways can you think to use this stamp? I have a few more ideas that I plan on sharing in the near future. Don't want to miss out? Subscribe to The Relativity of Paper to be notified of projects. No crazy spam emails, I promise. They annoy the snot out of me.

Unicorn Scrapbook Layout

Check out Jamie Wright's new scrapbooking layout!

I created a fun unicorn scrapbook layout that I want to share with you today.

I started with Dyllusions ink for the background, making sure to create a vibrant background that blended together well. I chose two horse stamps from Victorine Originals. Heart Horse (3061-B) and Star Horse (3059-B). I stamped those two images all around the pages in random colors.

There was only one problem.  I wanted unicorns and these were horses. No problem, really. I drew a horn. Presto, chango, unicorns!

I wanted a beautiful unicorn to finish off the layout, so I grabbed Prancing Unicorn (1295-D) and hot foiled it with a rainbow foil.

Here are the pages separately.

Thank you for looking!  I hope you get some ideas for your next project.

Love Has Wings Butterfly Card

Hello again, Beth from Beth's Beauties here with you today!  Two weeks ago I shared THIS butterfly card with you, and today is another butterfly card, but with an entirely different feel to it!
I started with a piece of white cardstock and stamped and embossed the gorgeous butterfly wing from the V.O. Wings Stamp Set.  Then I watered down black and yellow acrylic paint to splatter it over the white cardstock.  After that I die cut it with a GMD Scalloped Stitched Rectangle die.  The patterned paper is from DCWV's Country Floral stack and I die cut that with a GMD stitched rectangle die and cut a slit partway across from the right side to show the wing stamp.
To dress up the rest of the front I added Bumblebee Trendy Twine and an unbranded tag die cut.  I stamped a sentiment from the Wings Stamp Set and added three matte finish yellow enamel dots.
Are you ready to see ALL the awesomeness of the stamp set I used?  Here it is!
Yes, it is a huge set and oh-so-beautiful.  It measures approximately 8x8".

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Simply Me Dreamcatcher

Simply Me
Dreamcatcher

Hello crafty friends, Amy here from thetigershaven. For my first post here on the Victorine Originals blog, I decided to do something I am comfortable doing, a mixed media canvas using the Dream catcher stamp.

When I first saw this stamp, I fell in love with it. It's simple and beautiful.

Starting out with a 6X6 canvas, I added blues using Decoart media (cyan, turquoise &teal).  I then speckled paint around the background as well as the flowers I added later with cyan, white & magenta. As I was waiting for that to dry, I grabbed a price of brown cardstock & rubbed it down with Tim Holtz Distress paint-walnut stain, then stamped my image in white & then black. Tearing around the image to give it the look I wanted. I used Ken Olivers, color burst to add color to a white lace like paper I had.
After finding all the accessories from my stash and the perfect wood veneer saying by simple stories, I began to place everything together, moving peices around until they found their spot on the canvas.

I hope you've enjoyed my post today, I have added a list of all supplies used on my post over on my blog
Thank you for coming by and don't forget to check out our challenge going on right now here on the blog. Please join in & show us your take on father's.

Peas and Thank You Card

Hi, everyone and welcome! Lisa from The Relativity of Paper, sharing a card featuring the Pea Pod Stamp and a funny, punny sentiment. I refuse to drag Y'all down with me and the puns, so I'll just jump into the card and the how-to.

It seems most everything I make is quick and simple, this one is no different. I used DCWV The Basics 6x6 Paper Pad and DCWV DIY Project Stack Favor Boxes 12 x 12 Paper Pad. The sentiment, like most I do, is printed onto the color cardstock using my printer. I stamped the Pea Pods Stamp several times, no rhyme or reason, just do it. Color two peas in each pod with a green alcohol marker or watercolor pen then color the rest of the images with a light gray. The rest is die-cutting, I used stitched rectangle dies so I create layers. I die-cut the printed sentiment using a banner die. I added a little fun foam to create dimension between the second and third layers. I finished the card off with three enamel dots.

I have a full supply list on my blog, The Relativity of Paper.

As always, thanks for joining us here on the Victorine Original Challenge Blog.
Don't forget to join the challenge for a chance to win.

Shabby Blue Flower

Good morning, everyone!  My name is Holly and I'm excited to be a design team member for Victorine Originals.  I've been playing with this beautiful flower stamp called Bush Morning Glory, and I loved how this looked in blue.  I decided to go for a monochromatic card for my first VO post today.

I stamped this gorgeous flower with Stormy Sky distress ink onto some white cardstock.  Then I used a wet paint brush and "colored in" in the flower.  I added a little extra ink to the star-like center so it would pop out.  I love the shabby chic feel of this soft blue flower.  To enhance the shabby theme, I sponged some brown ink on the edges and then distressed them with a distress tool.  I did the same thing with the other white layer in the background before tying some blue seam binding around the flower.

Check back here every day to see gorgeous artwork from my fellow design team members.  Don't forget, we also have a fun challenge for you to play along and share your own artwork with us.  The current challenge (#3) is Fathers, so show us your masculine cards and projects.

One Layer Rainbow Inspired Birthday Card

Hi, everyone and welcome! Lisa from The Relativity of Paper sharing a fun rainbow inspired birthday card with you today. Summer is upon us and everyone wants to be outside soaking up the sun and enjoying family time by the pool, right?  So today is all about keeping it simple with this one layer birthday card. This card is quick and simple, can be used for any occasion. So let's jump into this thing.

To create this card you need four things: ink, paper, stamping tool and the VO Dots Stamp Set.
A stamping tool makes life so much easier no matter what you are stamping but especially so when stamping with this overlay technique but no worries, you can achieve this with an acrylic block too.

Here's a close-up that really explains how to do this. Simply stamp the dot overlaying each color as you move your paper when using a stamping tool. The stamping tool has the gridlines that allow you to align your paper and keep it straight while positioning it.

Curious about other products used to create this card? Then jump over to The Relativity of Paper for a complete supply list.

Design Team Member Beth Fiscus

Sabrina here -I am officially introducing Beth Fiscus.

She gets a different introduction than everyone else because she has been instrumental in helping me navigate the crafting world. She's a fellow Nebraskan and a down-right good person.

Sit down friends (or stay seated) while I share with you with a tale of beauty and wonder. (Are you impressed, yet?)

Journey with me back to January 18, 2017 when on a fateful Wednesday, Beth posted about using Victorine Original's 1502 Train stamp in a card. Then, she tagged the Victorine Originals Facebook page when posting it to social media. She couldn't have known the fate which would befall her.

As the owner of the page, I saw a notification about her post. I cruised on over to her blog and fell in crafty-love! All of her pretties! Such talent! Surely, she was a rock star, a giant among crafters. Would she have time to even acknowledge my thanks?

Timidly, I messaged her. I thanked her for tagging the page and asked if she would make more pretties if I sent her stamps. She looked down from her throne in tolerance and fondness! (She said sure and started posting images from products she made. The best part? She's the nicest person in the world to work with. If you get the chance, make her acquaintance!)

She asked me if I had a blog and I had to go searching to find that answer. Now, here we are, breathing life into this blog again! We have design challenges again thanks to her innocent question. When I saw the part on here about a design team, she answered my 100 questions about it and now we have eight talented ladies creating stunning designs.

I asked all of my design team members to send me information about themselves. Here's what Beth sent:

"I started being crafty at a very young age.  I was doing hand embroidery and using a sewing machine before I was even in grade school. Through the years, I have tackled many different forms of crafting, but my current crafting love is with paper.  I got my first taste in the paper crafting world when I made my wedding invitations, programs, etc. over 10 years ago.   I am a collector of beautiful papers and love to use them to create many cards and 3D paper items.  My single most favorite scrapbooking tool is my Silhouette Cameo.  Without it, I wouldn’t be able to create nearly as much as I do.  As a wife, a mom of three young boys and working part time as a nurse, I fit in crafting in the “spare” moments as often as I can.  It is my passion and my ME time!"

This is the project that she's most proud of creating.

I need to get my hands on the template for that! So pretty!

She posts all her designs on her blog.
Follow her Facebook Page.
Check her out on Instagram.
See her pins on Pinterest.
Subscribe to her on Youtube.

I am so delighted you have read this far. Beth has become one of my favorite people and I am deeply grateful to her for helping me figure out which way I want to take Victorine Originals. I'm sure you will love her and her designs as much as I do.

Love and Crafty Kisses,
Sabrina
